Introduction
This test will allow the technician to evaluate the proper operation of the decelerator/brake pedal. In order to conduct this test, the tracks must be able to move in both directions.Required Tools

    4     8S-7620     Base As    Test Preparation - Deceleration/Brake Pedal
Move the machine to a smooth horizontal location.
Permit only one operator on the machine. Keep all other personnel away from the machine or in the operator sight.
Place the steering control lever in the NEUTRAL position.
Engage the parking brake.
Lower the attachments to the ground.
Stop the engine.Note: The monitoring system (if equipped) for your machine accesses many values that are useful in troubleshooting the power train system. When the situation is appropriate, use the monitoring system in order to find a pressure or determine a system problem.
Use suitable lifting devices in order to lift the machine and place the machine on stands. The tracks must be able to turn freely in both directions.Test Procedure - Deceleation/Brake Pedal
Remove the rear bottom guard.

Bottom view of the right travel motor after the bottom guard has been removed. (AA) Brake pressure port
Connect Tooling (A) to test port (AA) near the right travel motor.
Start the engine and increase the engine speed to HIGH IDLE.
Check the brake pressure. Record the pressure onto the worksheet. The brake pressure at pressure tap (AA) should be 100 100 kPa (15 15 psi).
Depress the decelerator/brake pedal.
Release the parking brake.
Move the speed and direction control to the FORWARD position.
Release the decelerator/brake pedal. The tracks should begin to turn.
Check the brake pressure and the engine speed. Record the data onto the worksheet. The brake pressure at pressure tap (AA) should be 3100 + 400/ -350 kPa (450 + 58/ -51 psi).
Slowly depress the decelerator/brake pedal to the floor. The tracks should stop but the brakes should not apply.Note: The decelerator/brake pedal has two configurations. When the decelerator/brake pedal is in the default configuration, and the decelerator/brake pedal is pressed, the engine speed and the hydrostatic system speed will be reduced proportionally. This reduction is called the "Transmission Brake and Engine Deceleration" configuration.Note: The second configuration is called "Transmission Brake Only". When the decelerator/brake pedal is pressed, the hydrostatic system speed will be reduced proportionally. The engine speed will remain unchanged.
Check the brake pressure and the engine speed. Record the data onto the worksheet. The brake pressure at pressure tap (AA) should be 2800 + 400/ -300 kPa (406 + 58/ -44 psi).If the decelerator/brake pedal is in the default configuration, the engine speed will be reduced
