This Program can only be administered after a failure occurs. The decision whether to apply the Program is made by the dealer. When reporting the repair, use "PS0984" as the Part Number and "7755" as the Group Number. Use "96" as the Warranty Claim Description Code and use "Z" as the SIMS Description Code.
This Revised Service Letter replaces the September 2, 1996 Service Letter. Changes have been made to the Action Required.

Aluminum pistons, which do not meet reuse guidelines, may need to be replaced on certain 3406E Truck Engines rated at 410 horsepower and below.

Remove six cylinder packs and six oil spray jets (single spray jet).
Install six (0R8333) Cylinder Packs, six 1003851 Oil Spray Jets (double spray jets) and related gasket and seals.
Refer to SIMS and if Service Letter PS8700 or PS8748 has been completed, flash back to the original software.
