3. Check for continuity through harness from the switch to the operator panel. Fasten Y wire for the switch to machine ground. Disconnect the harness plug from the operator panel and check for continuity at the plug connection (8) that is grounded. Use an 8S4627 Continuity Tester or a 6V3030 Digital Multimeter. PROBLEM D: The Master Fault Light Is NOT ON But Was ON in Test I.Replace the operator panel. PROBLEM E: The Alternator Indicator Is OFF.Replace the operator panel.Test III
1. Master Fault Light must be OFF.2. Fault alarm must be OFF.3. ALL indicators must be OFF.A. One or more indicators ON.B. Alternator light is ON. PROBLEM A: One Or More Indicators Are ON. Possible Causes:If engine oil pressure indicator is ON (normal if engine oil pressure is low: STOP ENGINE IMMEDIATELY).a. Bad engine oil pressure switch.b. An open (break) in a harness wire to the switch. If engine coolant temperature and/or hydraulic oil temperature indicator is ON (If there were a bad switch or harness, these indicators would have been ON in Test II; therefore if any of them are ON now, it must be caused by a temperature problem), follow the procedure given earlier for overheating. If fuel level indicator is ON, fuel level is below about 10% level. (If there was a bad switch or harness, this indicator would have been ON in Test II.)If brake pressure indicator is ON and system pressure does not go above 75 psi (520 kPa) with engine running, there is a problem in the air system. (Any bad switches or harness would have been taken care of in Test II.) TROUBLESHOOTING Engine Oil Pressure IndicatorLoss of engine oil pressure can cause much damage to the engine. If oil pressure indicator turns ON, STOP VEHICLE AND THEN STOP ENGINE IMMEDIATELY. Check engine oil level. With the engine stopped and therefore no oil pressure, the oil pressure switch must be open.1. Remove the GY/R wire from the 9G8010 Engine Oil Pressure Switch and put it to machine ground. 2. Connect the GY/R wire, that connects to the oil pressure switch, to machine ground. Disconnect the harness plug from the operator panel and check for continuity between connections 2 and 5. (Connection 2 is the system ground and connection 5 goes to the oil pressure switch.) Use an 8S4627 Continuity Tester or a 6V3030 Digital Multimeter. 3. Check for continuity between the ground connection on the oil pressure switch (B/W wire) and machine ground. Use an 8S4627 Continuity Tester or a 6V3030 Digital Multimeter. 4. Turn the fuel OFF. Remove the oil pressure switch and put a thumb over the opening.Have another serviceman turn the start switch to the START position so that the starter motor turns the engine. (Do not turn the engine for more than 30 seconds.)An increase in oil pressure must be felt. Engine Coolant Temperature Or Hydraulic Oil Temperature IndicatorFollow the instructions given at the first of the section on the monitoring system, to make sure the
