This change is effective with 225D...2SJ496-Up 231D...1NK149-Up; 235C...3WG235-Up, 5AF1186-Up; 245B...6MF537-Up Excavators and is adaptable to all the above earlier excavators.
Use the following steps for removal of the former and installation of the new parts.
Illustration 1.1. Remove 9V8303 Cover and related hardware.
Illustration 2.2. Disconnect 6W7912 Spring Assembly (7) and 8B3768 Yoke (8) from 6W7986 Lever (9). Replace spring assembly (7) if the rod is bent.
Illustration 3.3. Remove lever (9), 9V9343 Lever Assembly (10), and 9K4068 Control as a unit by removing two 4M5281 Bolts (11) and two 6V8185 Nuts.4. Disassemble lever (9) and lever assembly (10) from 9K4068 Control. Save all hardware items.5. Assemble unit removed in Step 3 by using lever (9), lever assembly (11), and new 8R9198 Control (1). Install this unit as it was removed in Step 3.6. Install new 4E4530 Plate (2) using two 8T8908 Bolts (3), two 9V9371 Spacers (4), two 8T4205 Washers (5) and two 2D6235 Locknuts (6). The new 4E4530 Plate is mounted in two existing holes of 9V8304 Support Assembly (12).7. Install 9V8303 Cover and related hardware removed in Step 1.
