D 183-4799 Track Roller Lifting Fork 1 Note: The procedure to install any of the track carrier rollers is identical. The procedure that follows is for one of the track carrier rollers.
Make sure that the shaft of the track carrier roller and the bore in the mounting bracket are clean and free of dirt.

Use Tooling (D) in order to lift track carrier roller (2). The weight of track carrier roller (2) is approximately 57 kg (125 lb). Carefully position track carrier roller (2) in the mounting bracket.

The adjustment of the track carrier roller is determined on the part number of the track carrier roller. Refer to the note below. Note: Track carrier roller 6Y-8168 and 175-3274 must be adjusted to 7 .5 mm (0.28 0.02 inch). Track carrier roller 242-4066 must be adjusted to 21 mm (0.8 inch).

Use Tooling (C) in order to tighten bolt (1) to a torque of 1000 125 N m (740 90 lb ft).

Use Tooling (A) in order to lift the track assembly. Remove Tooling (B). Lower the track assembly onto the track carrier roller. Remove Tooling (A).

Personal injury or death can result from grease and oil coming out of the relief valve.Grease and oil are under high pressure coming out of the relief valve and can penetrate the body.Do not watch the relief valve to see if grease is escaping. Watch the track or track adjustment cylinder to see if the track is being loosened. Make sure the vent holes are clean before the tension is released on the track.
Tighten relief valve (1) for the track adjuster. Adjust the tension of the track assembly. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Track Adjustment - Adjust".
