Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "'Hydraulic System Oil – Change'" for the correct draining and filling procedures.

Remove bolts (1) and remove cover (2). Use two people in order to remove the cover.

Disconnect hose assemblies (3), (4), (5), and (6).

Remove mounting bolts (7).

Install Tooling (A) and attach a suitable lifting device, as shown. Remove travel motor (8). The weight of travel motor (8) is approximately 60 kg (135 lb). Installation Procedure
Install travel motor (8) in the reverse order of removal.
Torque mounting bolts (7) to a torque of 510 20 N m (376 15 lb ft)
