3412E (4CR) EnginesDescription of Change: The oil spill port on the fuel injectors of the above Caterpillar Engines has changed from one port on top of the fuel injector to two ports below the solenoid. The change in the port location will reduce oil carryover (blow by) and will direct fuel injector oil flow down.Adaptable To: The new design is found on 138-8754 and 138-8755 Fuel Injector Groups. The new design of fuel injectors and the former design of fuel injectors can be used together. Therefore, changing complete sets of fuel injectors is not necessary nor recommended. The new design of the 138-8754 and 138-8755 Fuel Injector Groups is effective for the above Caterpillar Engines with serial numbers 3408E (7PR458-Up) and 3412E (4CR571-Up).
