Removal Procedure
Start By:
Separate the track assemblies. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Track - Separate".

Use a pry bar in order to position front idler (3) and recoil spring (2) partially out of track roller frame (1). Attach a suitable lifting device to front idler (3) .

Once front idler (3) and recoil spring (2) are partially out of track frame (1) reposition the suitable lifting device in order to support recoil spring (2) and front idler (3) .
Slide front idler (3) and recoil spring (2) out of track roller frame (1) as one unit. The weight of the unit is approximately 213 kg (470 lb).

Remove bolts (4). Remove hydraulic track adjuster (5) from track roller frame (1) .

Leave the suitable lifting device attached and turn front idler (3) and recoil spring (2) around 180 degrees.
Install the front idler partially into the track frame. The front idler and the recoil spring will be supported by the track frame.
Reposition the suitable lifting device in order to support the recoil spring.

Remove bolts (6) that hold front idler (3) to recoil spring (2) .
Separate recoil spring (2) from front idler (3). The front idler will be supported by the track frame. The weight of recoil spring (2) is approximately 95 kg (210 lb).

Attach a suitable lifting device to the front idler (3). Remove front idler (3) from track roller frame (1). The weight of front idler (3) is approximately 109 kg (240 lb).Note: For disassembly of the front idler, refer to Undercarriage Reconditioning Guide, SEBF8501.
