Install two 115-2422 Batteries (2). Use bolts (31), washers (28), and bar (29) in order to secure the battery in the battery box.Note: The existing batteries should also be replaced with 115-2422 Batteries (2) if the following conditions are true.
The existing batteries are more than six months old from the date of manufacture.
The existing batteries show signs of abuse or heavy wear.Installing the Battery Cables and Starter Motor

Remove the two existing battery cables (60) and (61) .Note: Save all clamps and hardware for reinstallation.

Install 319-8873 Cable As (34) and 319-8874 Cable As (35). Battery cable (34) replaces battery cable (60). Battery cable (35) replaces battery cable (61). Use the existing hardware that was removed in Step 1 in order to fasten the cables to the base of the machine. Refer to Illustration 35 and Illustration 36.Note: The existing batteries should also be replaced with 115-2422 Batteries (2) if the following conditions are true.
The existing batteries are more than six months old from the date of manufacture.
The existing batteries show signs of abuse or heavy wear.

Use the listed hardware in order to install fourteen 205-7299 Clips (11) .

The electric starting motor for the machine should be replaced with 237-1962 Electric Starting Motor Gp (7). This motor will improve the performance of the machine during cold starting.Remove the existing starting motor (54) from the machine.ReferenceFor more information about removing the starting motor, refer to Disassembly and Assembly, KENR6394, "511, 521, 522, and 532 Track Feller Bunchers Engine Supplement", "Electric Starting Motor - Remove and Install - Engine In Chassis".

Install 237-1962 Electric Starting Motor Gp (7). It may be necessary to tilt the starting motor at an angle in order to obtain clearance for the installation.Installing the Cover Plate on the Battery Box

Install battery cable (8). Connect battery cables (34) and (35) .

Reinstall any covers or doors that were removed.
