Upon installation, tighten the drain plug to a torque of 79 N m (59 lb ft). 2. Remove bolt, nut and washer (2). 3. Use a suitable lifting device to raise the engine off the ground approximately 50 cm (20 in). The weight of the 3408 engine is approximately 2200 kg (4,850 lb). The weight of the 3412 engine is approximately 2600 kg (5,735 lb).4. Center Tool (A) under oil pan (1) as shown. 5. Remove bolts and washers (3) from around the oil pan. Using Tool (A), carefully lower the oil pan far enough to clear the oil pump. Use two people to guide and balance the oil pan while it is being lowered. The weight of the oil pan is approximately 14 kg (31 lb)for the 3408 engine and approximately 27 kg (60 lb)for the 3412 engine.6. Remove the gasket from the oil pan. Upon installation, use a new gasket for replacement. For installation of the oil pan, reverse the removal steps.7. Fill the engine with engine oil to the correct level. See the Operation & Maintenance Manual.
