( 1 ) Depending on the machine, not all channels will be available.
Set up the Caterpillar Electronic Technician (ET) data logger to record the channels in Table 1. Set the logging parameters to record at the highest sampling rate (four samples per second) and for a 10 minute duration.Note: Report the data log file as SDF files
Take photographs of the truck while the truck is loaded and take an estimate of the density of the material.Note: Depending on the performance issue the truck may need to be at the rated payload of the truck.
Set a mark on the haul road to start logging data and a place to stop logging the data. If you are comparing multiple trucks, used the same haul road to operate the truck on. That way each truck can be ran over the same course with similar loads.Note: Make sure to choose a road that you can operate the truck on with no interruptions.
If testing multiple trucks log the data for each truck separately.
Perform and record all the channels that are under "Available Parameters" in Table 1.
Take photographs of the test track listing grades and underfoot conditions.Torque Converter Stall Test

Go to the transmission Electronic Control Module (ECM)
Choose "Diagnostics" then choose "Transmission Stall" from the drop-down menu. Illustration 1 and Illustration 2 will show the screens that should be used.Note: The instruction will tell you to run the machine at full throttle with the service brake applied.
The Cat ET will then place the transmission into sixth gear during the test.
Look at the indicator dots during the test. When you see 10 or 11 sets, take a screen capture. After you see 10 or 11 dots, the test will stop a second later. You might have to do this step a couple of times before you get a good screen capture.
Then you should get an engine speed and a boost reading that has not been affected by torque limiting.Additionally Required Cat ET data
