The cab windshieldcan wedge the travel levers in their forward position if it closes whilethe machine is traveling, which could result in loss of control of themachine with potential for serious injury or death. Redesigned direct replacementlevers will eliminate this condition. A warning film is to be applied tothe right side cab window. Also a new safety section page for the Operationand Maintenance Manual will be left in the machine. Please insert thispage into the Operations and Maintenance Manual. New travel levers needto be installed on the products listed below. You will not be charged forthe service performed.Contact your local Caterpillar dealerimmediately to schedule this service. The dealer will advise you of thetime required to complete this service. Move the machine to a level surface. Swingthe upper frame so that the cab is positioned between the tracks. Placethe front linkage in the servicing position.
Move the hydraulic activation controllever to the locked position, turn off the engine, and remove the key fromthe ignition.
Open the front windshield and latch inthe stored position. Remove the lower windshield assembly.
