Description of Change: A new improved piston body is used in the above machines and engines. The new piston body has improved retention of the iron band (ring carrier) to the aluminum body. This will help prevent separation of the iron band from the aluminum body. Adaptable To: The new 113-6045 Piston Body Assembly is a direct replacement for the former 7E-0489 Piston Body Assembly. The former piston body assembly is canceled. The new 113-6045 Piston Body Assembly is in effect with the 3406B Engine 11N8640 in Caterpillar Machines. If a former 7E-0489 Piston Body Assembly fails due to a separation between the iron band and the aluminum body, replace all six pistons with new 113-6045 Piston Body Assemblies.The new piston body assembly is adaptable to the following machines powered by 3406 Machine Engines 11N1-8639:245B Excavators 6MF513-Up and 1SJ713-Up.245D Excavators 7ZJ1-Up and 4LK1-UP.375 Excavators 8XG1-Up, 8WJ1-Up, 6NK1-Up, 6RL1-Up, 9WL1-Up, and 1JM1-Up.RM-350 Reclaimer Mixer 5FK1-Up.SM-350 Stabilizer Mixer 1RM1-UP.
