Remove Flywheel
1. Remove two flywheel bolts from the crankshaft. Install Tool (B) in the crankshaft.2. Install Tooling (A) in flywheel (2). Attach a suitable lifting device to Tooling (A). Remove the remainder of bolts (1). 3. Remove flywheel (2). The weight of flywheel (2) is 84 kg (185 lb).4. If necessary, remove the ring gear from flywheel (2) using a punch and hammer.Install Flywheel
1. Heat ring gear (3) to a maximum temperature of 315° C (600° F) and install it on flywheel (2), so the chamfer of the gear teeth will be toward the starter pinion when the flywheel is installed. 1. Install Tool (B) in the crankshaft.2. Fasten a hoist and Tool (A) to flywheel (1). Put flywheel (1) into position on Tool (B).3. Put clean engine oil or 5P-0960 Multipurpose Greaseon the threads of bolts (2). Install bolts (2). Remove Tool (B). Install the last two bolts. Tighten bolts (2) to a torque of 270 40 N m (200 30 lb ft).4. Check the run out (eccentricity) of the flywheel. See the topic "Flywheel & Flywheel Housing" in the Specifications Manual.
