- - - Use the following procedure to find the actual lobe lift (C):
1. Measure the camshaft lobe height (D).
- - - 2. Measure the base circle (E).
- - - 3. Subtract the base circle measurement in step 2 from the camshaft lobe height in step 1. The difference is the actual lobe lift.
- - - The maximum permissible difference between the actual lobe lift in step 3 and the specified camshaft lobe lift of a new camshaft is 0.10 mm ( 0.0034 inch).
