After the mounting bolts have been installed and are torqued to the correct value, remove the lifting device.
Install the top access panel (25).

Install the air intake guard (26) that is below the end bracket.

Ensure that all of the following have been connected.
Engine harness wires
Generator power leads
Current transformer wires
Temperature sensing wires
Space heater wires
Ground wires
Voltage sensing wires
Field excitation wires
PMG or IE wire connections
If equipped, connect the power cables that are for the jacket water heaterNote: If equipped, the conduit for the jacket water heater wiring connector (30) is located just above the the cable connector (31) that is on the front side of the terminal box. The wires are connected to the terminal strip. Refer to Illustration 20.

Some optional accessories, such as the load share module, may use sensing harnesses that are connected directly to the bus bars. Connect the wires (32) that were removed from the bus bar (33).

Assemble the harness assembly connector (36) to the terminal box. The connector is on the front side of the terminal box.

Install the harness connector cover (37).
Connect the cables (40) to the center post bus bars (41). Refer to Illustration 24. Note: Only the low voltage generators, that provide up to 600 volts, have the center post bus bar configuration. The medium voltage generators, that provide up to 5000 volts, have the flying leads configuration. The flying leads configuration refer to a generator that has the generator output leads connected directly to the customer bus bars. Connect these leads to the customer bus bars. Refer to the "Bus Bar - Remove and Install" section of this document for an example of the flying lead wiring configuration.Note: Ensure that care is taken to install, bundle, and secure all power cable leads. The insulation that is on the leads must be properly protected. Ensure that the leads are not rubbing against any metal edges. If required, protect the cable bundles with a suitable rubber sheet (rubber mats) where the cables can settle or come into contact with other terminal box parts. Refer to Illustration 23 for an example of properly installed cable ties (39) and rubber mat (38) around the cable bundle.

Connect the harness connectors (42) and (43).

Install the necessary cable ties (44) in order to keep the wires in a bundle.

Install the front access panel (45). Note: The terminal box may have a left side, a right side, or a rear mounted circuit breaker. The terminal box may have a left side, a right side, or rear mounted customer bus bars. Install the access cover(s) that were removed in order to gain access to the required components.

Connect the grounding cable (46).

Install the rear access panel (47) of the control housing assembly.

Connect the battery that supplies power to the generator.
