Remove the stick. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Stick - Remove" in this manual.
Remove the fuel tank. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Fuel Tank - Remove" in this manual.Note: It is not necessary to remove the fuel tank if Tooling (B ) is not needed to remove the boom pin.
Retract the stick cylinder. Tie the stick cylinder in order to prevent extension.
Lower the boom onto Tooling (A) .

Attach a suitable lifting device in order to support cylinder (1) .
Disconnect grease hose assembly (2) .
Remove bolts (3). Remove plate (4) and the washer.
Push pin (5) inward. Cylinder (1) will release from the boom. Lower boom cylinder (1) onto a suitable support.
Repeat Steps 3 through 6 for the opposite side.
Install a suitable lifting device onto pin (5). Lower boom cylinder (1) .

Disconnect hose assemblies (6) .

Disconnect clamp (7) and harness assembly (8) .

Install plate (4) and bolts (3) onto pin (5). Attach a suitable lifting device onto pin (5) and pin (9) .

Remove bolt (11). Install Tooling (B) in order to remove pin assembly (10). The weight of Tooling (B) and pin assembly (10) is approximately 240 kg (530 lb). The weight of pin assembly (10) is approximately 82 kg (180 lb).

Remove boom (12). The weight of boom (12) is approximately 2359 kg (5200 lb).
