Machines With Precombustion Chamber EnginesThe 8S7713 Heat Start Switch used on many products with precombustion chamber engines is no longer serviced. The 7N4160 Heat Start Switch can be used as a replacement. The 7N4160 Heat Start Switch provides better sealing against contaminants. The 7N4160 Heat Start Switch also has a contact action better suited for cranking applications where the starter solenoid is activated directly from the start switch. Such applications do not use a start relay.
The new switch is longer than the former switch. Therefore, in some applications, the new switch is not a direct replacement for the former switch and may require 5K1928 Bosses to complete the installation. Use one boss on each mounting bolt of the dash panel to provide clearance for the new switch.
