Illustration 1. Dimensions for making the threaded block if weld nuts are not used.2. Open the access door and locate the center of the channel on the door from top to bottom. See Illustration 2.
Illustration 2. Reworking former access door so the door can be held shut with two bolts.3. Mark the vertical center of the door channel, and make another mark 38.1 mm (1.50") above this mark.4. Drill two 9.5 mm (.38") holes through the channel and the door.5. Close the door and, through the two newly drilled holes, mark two locations on the frame around the opening for the door.6. Drill two 9.5 mm (.38") holes through the frame.7. Tack weld the fabricated block, or the two 1/4" weld nuts, on the back side of the two holes drilled in the frame around the opening.8. Install the two bolts and washers, and bolt the door to the frame as shown.
