EXHAUST GP 4761939 - Caterpillar

(1) Drain the fuel tank and remove plug (1) from the tank. (2) Install 2L42 Bushing (2) in 2G9006 Vent (3) and install vent (3) in place of plug (1). (3) Use an Arcair torch and cut a 3.5" (89) x 4.25" (108) opening (A) through the right fender (4) and fender support (5). Two 7D6962 Lugs (6) and one 8F9836 Lug (7) will be welded to the frame at the dimensions shown, in steps that follow. (4) Remove cover (8); 5J780 Gasket will be used again. Install 9D8979 Tube Assembly (9) and the gasket with four S1585 Bolts and former lockwashers. Assemble 7D6954 Clamp (10), 7D6941 Plate and 7D6962 Lugs (6), with two 6H1717 Bolts and 2M849 Washers. With lugs (6) at the dimensions shown in step three, weld the lugs to the tube with .12" (3.0) fillet welds. (5) With lug (7) at the dimensions shown in step three, weld it to the frame with .12" (3) fillet welds. Install 2G9215 Hose (11) in bushing (2). Fasten hose (11) to the fuel tank with 3H19 Clips (12); to the fender support with 945977 Clips (13) and (14), and with 3H19 Clip (14) to lug (7) with the bolts and lockwashers. (6) Install 2G9000 Adapter (15) in tube (9). Put ring (16) over tube (9) and install 9D630 Dust Cover (17) to adapter (15).
