Information:


Sudden movement of the machine or release of oil under pressure can cause injury to persons on or near the machine.To prevent possible injury, perform the procedure that follows before testing and adjusting the brake system.
Test for the Service Brakes
Move the machine to a smooth, horizontal location. Move the machine away from other operating machines and away from personnel.
Lower the work tool to the ground. Stop the engine.
Engage the parking brake.
Place chocks in front of the wheels and behind the wheels.
Connect the steering frame lock.
Remove the chocks.
Fasten the seat belt. Start the engine. Raise the work tool slightly.
Apply the service brake.
Disengage the parking brake.
Move the direction control switch to the FORWARD position.
Driving through the brake for more than 15 seconds may damage the brake.
Slowly increase the engine rpm to HIGH IDLE. The machine should not move.
Reduce the engine speed to LOW IDLE. Move the transmission control to the NEUTRAL position. Engage the parking brake.
After testing, lower the work tool to the ground and stop the engine. Note: If the machine moved during the test, inspect the brake components. Refer to the Testing and Adjusting, "Braking System Troubleshooting" for probable causes. Repair the brake components before you return the machine to operation.Adjustment of the Service Brake System

Use the following procedure in order to adjust the height of the stop.

View C (1) Locknut (2) Stop bolt (D) 90 1 mm (3.54 0.04 inch)
Measure the Dimension (D). If the dimension is not within the specification, adjustment is necessary.
Loosen the locknut (1) .
Turn the bolt (2) in order to achieve the dimension (D) .Note: Turn the bolt (2) clockwise in order to raise the stop. Turn the bolt (2) counterclockwise in order to lower the stop.
Tighten the locknut (1) .
Start the engine. Apply the service brakes and release the service brakes.
Check the Dimension (D). Repeat the procedure if dimension (D) is not within the specification.Adjustment of the Inching Valve Control Cable

View A (F) 4 mm (0.1575 inch) maximum (3) Ball joint (4) LeverFor proper adjustment, the pedal for the service brake must be in the free state. Remove clevis pin (7). Remove pin (8). Adjust dimension (F) to the proper distance. Make sure that the master cylinder is fully extended.
Place pin (8) and clevis pin (7) back into the correct location.
Remove clevis pin (5). Remove pin (6). Adjust dimension (G) to the proper distance.
Place pin and clevis pin back into the correct location.
Check and make sure that dimension (F) and dimension (G) are the correct distance.Adjustment of the Brake Light
