Rework Procedure
1.Remove the floormat and rear floorplate to gain access to the top of the backhoe valve. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly Manaul, RENR6485, "Bank Valve (Backhoe) ? Remove" Steps 4 and 5.
2.Move the backhoe control pod structure to the working position and check for clearance between the cross bar assembly and the support rib on the valve bracket, as shown in Image 1.1.1. If no clearance exists, or the pod structure fouls on the valve bracket and cannot be locked fully into the working position, follow the remaining steps to adjust the assembly.

3.Check the position of the Left and Right hand pods relative to one another. The pods should be level when viewed from the side. If they are out of alignment, loosen the cross bar retaining bolts (Image 1.2.1 & 1.2.2), adjust the position of the RHS tower and re-tighten the cross bar bolts to 55+/-10Nm. If this fails to produce sufficient clearance, or the pods are already aligned correctly, complete the remaining steps in this rework procedure.

4.Remove the plastic pod covers from both the LH and RH pods.
5.Loosen the six 7X-2533 Bolts which retain the control assembly latches (Image 1.3.1).

6.Loosen the four bolts that retain the 183-4938 Bearing blocks. Replace the 8T-4189 Bolts on the LHS mount with 8T-4908 Bolts. Introduce a combination of 204-0751 and 219-7627 Shims under the bearing blocks on both sides, up to a maximum of 4mm, to lift the assembly and introduce clearance between the cross bar and the valve bracket. See Image 1.4.1 below:

7.Re-tighten the bearing block mounting bolts to a torque of 28 +/- 7Nm.
8.Adjust the position of the two latch assemblies on the LH mount such that the control assembly structure latches securely into the storage and working positions, without any free play. Retighten the 6 latch bolts to 12 +/- 3Nm. Note: the latch control rods will need to be lengthened to allow both latches to work properly, once their positions have been adjusted. When lengthening the control rods, ensure that the control lever sits centrally in the guide slot, when in the neutral position.
9.Check for correct operation of the control pod assembly. Ensure that the structure latches firmly into the storage and working positions.
10.Re-assemble the pod covers, the floorplate, and floormat. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly Manual, RENR6485, "Bank Valve (Backhoe) ? Install" Steps 13 and 14.
