 Removal Procedure
Start By:
Remove the valve mechanism cover.

Remove bolts (1) and remove rocker shaft assembly (2).

Remove valve bridges (3).

Remove push rods (4) and store in the vertical upright position.Installation Procedure

Apply clean unused engine oil to both ends of push rods (4) and install push rods (4).
Ensure that the slot of the valve bridge goes in-board and the circular pocket goes outboard.

Lubricate the top pad and the valve pockets of valve bridges (3) with clean unused engine oil and install valve bridges (3).
Ensure that the crankshaft and the camshafts are in time with each other. Also ensure that the adjustment screws in the rocker arms are loosened completely before the bolts on the rocker shaft are tightened or damage to the valves and the pistons may occur.

Place rocker shaft assembly (2) in position on the rocker arm base. Make sure that the rocker arms and pushrods (4) are aligned. Apply clean unused engine oil to the threads and the shoulder of bolts (1) and install bolts (1).
Tighten bolts (1) alternating between the two bolts. Tighten one bolt to a torque of 215 40 N m (159 30 lb ft), tighten the remaining bolt to a torque of 215 40 N m (159 30 lb ft). Retighten the first bolt to a torque of 215 40 N m (159 30 lb ft). Retighten the remaining bolt to a torque of 215 40 N m (159 30 lb ft).
Adjust the valve lash according to Testing and Adjusting, Valve Lash - Adjust. Hold the adjustment screw of the rocker arm assembly and tighten the jam nut to a torque of 70 15 N m (52 11 lb ft).
