BoresLower cylinder liner bores in cylinder blocks can be badly damaged by erosion, pitting and broken connecting rods. Repairs of these damaged cylinder blocks with 4.5", 4.75", 5.4", 5.75" and 6.25" bores are now possible if the lower bore is machined and a sleeve installed.
Porta Tool Inc., has available a boring machine and adapter groups to make a bore larger for a sleeve. Each adapter group has a guide plate, drive plate, alignment ring, chamfer gauge, two cutters and two chamfer cutters. Porta Tool Inc., also has the sleeves to make the repairs. Complete instructions are sent with the equipment and parts.
