There are two brake switches, one for each brake pedal. The switches are in parallel and either will turn on the stop lamps.

The forward horn is mounted at the front of the vehicle above the hydraulic reservoir. It is activated by the horn switch on the front dash.Forward Horn Gauges
There are gauges on the side console to monitor fuel level, engine coolant temperature, converter temperature, and battery voltage. There is also an electronic service meter and a tachometer. There are sensors mounted in the appropriate locations for the fuel level, engine coolant temperature, and converter temperature gauges. The tachometer is connected to the (D+) connection on the alternator which gives a pulsing signal. The frequency of the pulses is dependent on the engine speed, the number of poles in the alternator, the alternator pulley size and the size of the engine drive pulley.Gauges The electronic service meter is controlled by the normally open contacts of the engine oil pressure switch. When the engine is running and the oil pressure is above 93 kPa (14 psi) the normally open contacts of the pressure switch close and provide a ground for the service meter.If there is a problem with the service meter, make sure that there is voltage at the (+) terminal of the meter and that the wire connected to the (-) contact is at ground potential (with the engine running). There is more likely to be a problem with a harness wire or with the engine oil pressure switch than with the service meter.

ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENDERThe engine coolant temperature and converter temperature gauges each have a thermistor type sender unit. A thermistor is a resistor whose resistance depends on its temperature. The thermistor type sender units have a higher resistance when they are cold than when they are hot. If a gauge does not seem to be working correctly, there are several simple checks that can be made.1. Make sure that the gauge is grounded properly. There is a ground wire to each gauge.2. Make sure that there is voltage at the IGN connection on the gauge (the key switch must be ON).3. Disconnect the wire from the SEND (sender) connection of the gauge. This
