PROBLEM
The swing drives bolts need to be replaced oncertain 365B, 385B and 5090 Excavators. The swing drives bolts may havebeen improperly tightened on some machines. The swing drives bolts willneed to be replaced to prevent extensive damage to the swing drives, swinggear and upper frame.AFFECTED PRODUCT

Remove old bolts and install new bolts on bothswing drives.
The factory recommendation is toremove an old bolt and install new bolt, one at a time.
Refer to service manuals RENR1970 (for 365B) andRENR5407 (for 385B and 5090) Disassembly And Assembly Section "Swing Drive- Install" to install new bolts and washers. Properly apply 9S3263 ThreadLock Compound on the threads of 7X2576 Bolts and tighten to 900 +/- 100N.m.
If the threads on the frame are dirty(paint, debris, grease, etc.), carefully clean the threads without contaminatingthe threads with grease from the swing gear bearing pan.Note: If bolts have not been tightened at theright torque, the bolts loosening is expected to happen within the firsthundreds hours of operation. Machines listed in the Affected ProductList that have more than 1200 hours do not need to be reworked. Inthat case, the dealer has to submit a SIMS ticket using PI30700 as partnumber, with the comment "Machine over 1200 smu".OWNER NOTIFICATION
