Check the condition of the O-ring seals. If the O-ring seals are damaged, use new parts for replacement.

(D) Bolt holes Note: Install flange (11) with alignment pin (C) between the bolt holes (D).
Apply a thin coat of Tooling (A) on the outside machined surface of flange (11).
Apply a thin coat of Tooling (A) in the bore of flange (11).
Use a hammer in order to install flange (11) into the bucket.

Temporarily install O-ring seals (1) on each flange of the bucket at the pin bore for the stick.

Start the engine, and lower the stick into the bucket until the pin bores are in alignment with each other. Stop the engine.

Apply a thin coat of Tooling (A) on bucket pin (2).
Install bucket pin (2) with a hammer.
Put the retaining bolt hole in bucket pin (2) in alignment with the retaining bolt hole in the bucket.
Temporarily install the retaining bolt and nuts (3).

Install plate (10) with shims (8).
Install bolts (9). Tighten bolts (9) evenly.
Move the bucket to one side until the bucket contacts the stick.

Measure the clearance (X) between the bucket and the stick at the flange. Record this dimension.
Add or remove shims (8) between plate (10) and flange (11) until the clearance (X) between the stick and the bucket is between 0.5 1.0 mm (0.02 0.04 inch).
If shims were added or removed, reinstall plate (10). Install bolts (9). Tighten bolts (9) evenly. Note: There are two different thicknesses of shims. Only use a minimum of three 7Y-7686 Shims for the C-Family buckets.Note: Only use a minimum of three 086-0321 Shims for the B-Family buckets.

Tighten the retaining nuts. Tighten the outside nut until the nut is even or 0.5 mm (0.02 inch) above the end of the retaining bolt. Tighten the inside nut against the outside nut.

Slide O-ring seals (1) onto the pin joints between the stick and the bucket.

Make sure that the threaded puller hole in the end of bucket pin (6) is clean.
Apply a thin coat of Tooling (A) to the surface of bucket pin (6).
Push the link assembly in position in the bucket. Install bucket pin (6) with a hammer.
Position retaining nuts (5) onto the retaining bolt.

Tighten the retaining nuts. Tighten the outside nut until the nut is even or 0.5 mm (0.02 inch) above the end of the retaining bolt. Tighten the inside nut against the outside nut.

Slide O-ring seals (7) onto the bucket flange, as shown.
Slide the O-ring seals over the pin joints between the bucket and link assembly.
Lubricate the bucket pins. Reference: Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Boom, Stick and Bucket Linkage - Lubricate" for the correct lubrication procedure.
