Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.
Note: The cover of the vibration damper has fins. Be careful not to damage the fins.

Remove two bolts (1) that attach the vibration damper to the crankshaft adapter. Mark the bolt holes for reference upon installation of the vibration damper.
Install Tooling (A) in place of the bolts.

Attach Tooling (B) and a suitable lifting device to vibration damper (3) . The weight of vibration damper (3) is approximately 485 kg (1070 lb). Mark the position of Tooling (B) for reference upon installation of the vibration damper.Note: If any of the parts that contain reference marks are replaced, transfer the reference marks to the new parts.
Remove the remainder of bolts (1) .
Remove spacers (2) .
Slide the vibration damper on Tooling (A) away from the engine and remove vibration damper (3) .Note: If the vibration damper will be disassembled, place the vibration damper with the filler plugs upward.
Place the vibration damper onto a flat surface that is level. Remove Tooling (B) from the vibration damper.
Remove Tooling (A) from the crankshaft adapter. Mark the two crankshaft adapter holes for reference upon assembly.
