Remove two bolts (3) that are marked as (X). Install Tooling (A). Refer to M0080735Tool Operating Manual, "Engine Damper Lift" for the correct procedure to install Tooling (A). Remove remaining bolts (3) and spacer (4).
Attach Tooling (B) and a suitable lifting device to remove vibration damper (5). Refer to , M0080735Tool Operating Manual, "Engine Damper Lift" for the correct procedure to install Tooling (B) onto vibration damper (5). The weight of vibration damper (5) is approximately 139 kg (306 lb).
Remove vibration damper (5).

Remove seal (6) and O-ring seal (7).Note: The seal and O-ring seal are not reusable. Discard the seal and O-ring seal.Installation Procedure

Install a new O-ring seal (7) and a new seal (6).
Lubricate the bore holes, the bolts, and both sides of the spacer plate with engine oil.

Seal damage can occur. Use caution when aligning the damper with the end of the crankshaft.
Attach Tooling (B) and a suitable lifting device onto vibration damper (5). Refer to , M0080735Tool Operating Manual, "Engine Damper Lift" for the correct procedure to install Tooling (B) onto vibration damper (5).
Install Tooling (A). Ensure that the dowel hole on vibration damper (5) will align with dowel (5A) on the crankshaft. Position vibration damper (5) onto Tooling (A). Refer to , M0080735Tool Operating Manual, "Engine Damper Lift" for the correct procedure to install Tooling (A). The weight of vibration damper (5) is approximately 139 kg (306 lb).
Install vibration damper (5).

Remove Tooling (B) and slide vibration damper (5) into position on the crankshaft. Install spacer (4) and bolts (3). Remove Tooling (A). Install remaining bolts (3).
Bolts (3) tightening procedure for engines (S/N: LLM1-260)
Lubricate the bore threads, under the bolt head, and the spacer plate with engine oil.
Tighten the mounting bolts to a torque of 700 50 N m (516 37 lb ft). Repeat this step to ensure that the mounting bolts are tightened to a torque of 700 50 N m (516 37 lb ft) equally.

Bolt tightening sequence
Note: Lubricate the threads of the bolt and under the bolt head with a molysulfide base lubricant.
Begin the tightening sequence with the four counterbored bolts. Tighten the mounting bolts to a torque of 800 100 N m (590 74 lb ft) in the sequence indicated. Tighten the four counterbored bolts again to a torque of 800 100 N m (590 74 lb ft).
