Tool Capacity Rating Plates
All tools offered by Caterpillar for this machine have a tool capacity rating chart attached on the left rear side of the tool. This chart specifies the recommended load carrying capacity (rated load) of this particular tool on a given machine for a specific machine configuration and tool load position.
Review the rated load of a particular tool before performing any operation. Make adjustments to the rated load as necessary.Failure to comply can cause possible personal injury or tool damage.
The rated load, as specified on the tool rating chart, is based on the manufacturer's standard machine configuration as stated below.Rated load is determined by stability, hydraulic and structural limitations. Modifications to or attachments added to the above standard configuration may affect the rated load. See your Caterpillar dealer for guidance. Tipping Load Reductions
See your Caterpillar dealer for guidance on differences in weight and tipping loads using a 10% full fuel tank verses a 100% full fuel tank on specific machine configurations.Attachment Positioner - Tilt Adjustment
Use caution to avoid possible personal injury when adjusting the attachment positioner.Stop the engine and lower all equipment to relieve the hydraulic pressure.Engage the parking brake and block the tires to prevent sudden movement of the machine.Keep unauthorized personnel off the machine.
1. Start the engine. Lower the attachment to the ground.2. Position the attachment at the desired angle to the ground. Stop the engine and turn the engine start switch key to OFF and remove the key. Move the tilt control to TILT BACK Detent. 3. Loosen three bolts (1) that clamps the switch to the tube assembly (2). Move the switch down the cylinder to increase the digging angle. Move the switch up the cylinder to decrease the digging angle. 4. To test the adjustment, start the engine. Raise the attachment. Move the tilt control to TILT BACK.5. When the preset angle is reached, the tilt control lever should return to HOLD.Lift Kickout Attachment
Use caution to avoid possible personal injury when adjusting the attachment lift kickout.Keep personnel off the machine. Clear the area when working under or around the attachment linkage. With the attachment raised, proper support must be provided for the attachment and/or the linkage.
1. Start the engine. Raise the attachment to the desired height and stop the engine.2. Block the attachment and the linkage. 3. Loosen the switch bracket bolts.4. Rotate the switch bracket until the rear edge of the magnet is directly underneath the center of the switch assembly.5. Tighten the bolts.6. Loosen the switch bolts. Adjust the gap between the switch and the magnet to 8 mm 2 mm (.31 in .08 in). Tighten the switch bolts.7. To check the adjustment, start the engine and move the bucket lift control to the RAISE detent.8. At the pre-set lift height, the control lever should return to HOLD.
