Start By:
Remove the oscillating axle. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Oscillating Axle - Remove".

Remove four bolts (1) and the washers from cover (2) .

Attach Tooling (A) to cover (2). Attach a suitable lifting device to Tooling (A). Secure the suitable lifting device to a hoist. Remove the remaining 20 bolts (1) and the washers that secure cover (2) to the support. Remove cover (2) from the support. The weight of the cover is 63 kg (140 lb). Remove Tooling (A) from the cover.

Remove bearing (3) from plate (4). Remove four bolts (5) from plate (4) .

Tooling (C) must be modified in order to be used as a guide bolt. Place Tooling (C) in a suitable vise. Remove the head of the bolt in order to use Tooling (C) as a guide bolt.
Install Tooling (B) and Tooling (C), as shown. Remove the remaining 16 bolts (5) that secure plate (4) to the trunnion. Slide plate (4) away from the trunnion.

Attach Tool (D) to plate (4). Attach a suitable lifting device to Tool (D). Secure the suitable lifting device to a hoist. Remove Tooling (B) and Tooling (C) from the trunnion. Remove plate (4) from the trunnion. The weight of the plate is 49 kg (108 lb). Remove Tool (D) from the plate.

Remove bearing (6) from the support.

Attach a suitable lifting device to support (7). Secure the suitable lifting device to a hoist. Remove support (7) from trunnion (8). The weight of the support is 703 kg (1550 lb). Remove the tooling from the support.

Remove two bolts (9) and the washers from trunnion (8) .

Install Tooling (E) to the housing. Remove the remaining 14 bolts (9) that secure trunnion (8) to the housing. Slide trunnion (8) away from the housing.

Attach Tooling (F) to trunnion (8). Attach a suitable lifting device to Tooling (F). Secure the suitable lifting device to a hoist. Remove Tooling (E) from the housing. Remove trunnion (8) from the housing. The weight of the trunnion is 254 kg (560 lb). Remove Tooling (F) from the trunnion.

Remove O-ring seal (10) from trunnion (8) .
