FAN DRIVE 9L1637 - Caterpillar

start by:a) remove drive chain housing **See REMOVE CLUTCH AND CLUTCH DRIVE. 1. Remove output yoke (2). Remove three bolts (1) from the drive chain housing. These three bolts hold the output sprocket and support assembly. 2. Remove six bolts (3), then remove the output sprocket cover (4). 3. Remove lock and nut (5) from support assembly with tool (A). 4. Remove bearing (6) and spacer. 5. Remove support assembly (7). 6. Remove bolts (8) then remove sprocket (9) from cage assembly. 7. Remove bearing cup (10) from cage assembly (11). 8. Remove bearing (12) from the support assembly. 9. Remove seal ring (13) from the support assembly. 10. Remove seal (14) and bearing race (15) from the drive chain housing.Assemble Drive Chain Housing
1. Install seal in drive chain housing with tool group (B). Install the seal with the lip toward the yoke assembly. 2. Install bearing outer race with tool group (B). 3. Install the seal ring (1) on the support assembly. 4. Install bearing (2) on the support assembly. 5. Lower the temperature of the bearing cup (3) and install it in the cage assembly. 6. Install sprocket gear (4) on cage assembly with the bolts that hold it. 7. Install the sprocket and cage assembly on the support assembly. 8. Install spacer (5) and bearing (6). 9. Install lock (8) and nut (7). Tighten the nut with tool (A). 10. Install output sprocket cover and gasket (9). 11. Put the output sprocket and support assembly in position in the drive chain housing and install the three bolts (10) that hold it. Install yoke (11).
