Removal Procedure
Start By:
Remove the drive shaft. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Drive Shaft - Remove and Install".
Disengage the parking brake. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Operator Controls".

Remove bolt (1) and retainer (2).

Remove drum (3).

Remove bolts (5). Note: When you remove brake assembly (6), lever assembly (4) will fall.
Remove brake assembly (6).

Improper assembly of parts that are spring loaded can cause bodily injury.To prevent possible injury, follow the established assembly procedure and wear protective equipment.
Remove springs (6) and separate brake assembly (7). Installation Procedure

Assemble parking brake (7) and install springs (6).

Install lever assembly (4) and brake assembly (6).
Install bolts (5). Tighten bolts (5) to a torque of 120 20 N m (89 15 lb ft).

Install brake drum (3).

Install retainer (2) and bolt (1). Tighten bolt (1) to a torque of 120 20 N m (89 15 lb ft).
Adjust the parking brake. Refer to Testing and Adjusting, "Parking Brake Control Cable - Adjust". End By:
Install the drive shaft. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Drive Shaft - Remove and Install".
