Remove the lift cylinder. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Lift Cylinder - Remove".
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.

Attach Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device to lift cylinder mounting (1). The weight of lift cylinder mounting (1) is approximately 143 kg (315 lb).
Remove bolts (2), cover (3), and gasket (4) (not shown).

Attach Tooling (B) to pin (5). Use Tooling (B) in order to remove pin (5).

Use Tooling (A) and the suitable lifting device in order to remove lift cylinder mounting (1).

Remove lip seal (6) from the front frame.
If necessary, remove sleeve bearings (7) and (8). Installation Procedure

Lower the temperature of sleeve bearing (7).
Install sleeve bearing (7) into the front frame. The inside diameter of sleeve bearing (7) must be 152.536 0.280 mm (6.0053 0.0110 inch) after installation. Note: Be sure that sleeve bearing (7) is fully seated in the front frame.
Lower the temperature of sleeve bearing (8).
Install sleeve bearing (8) into the front frame. The inside diameter of sleeve bearing (8) must be 177.946 0.233 mm (7.0057 0.0092 inch) after installation. Note: Be sure that sleeve bearing (8) is fully seated in the front frame.
Install lip seal (6) in the front frame. Make sure that the sealing lip is facing outward.
Apply Tooling (C) to lip seal (6), bearing (7), and bearing (8).

Attach Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device onto lift cylinder mounting (1). The weight of lift cylinder mounting (1) is approximately 143 kg (315 lb). Use Tooling (A) and the suitable lifting device in order to install lift cylinder mounting (1).

Install gasket (4) (not shown), cover (3), and bolts (2). End By:
Install the lift cylinder. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Lift Cylinder - Remove".
