A     9U-5717     Shrink Tubing     1    Note: Cleanliness is an important factor. Before you begin assembly, thoroughly clean all parts in cleaning fluid. Allow the parts to air dry. Do not use wiping cloths or rags to dry parts. Lint may be deposited on the parts which may cause trouble. Inspect all parts. If parts are worn or damaged, use new parts for replacement. Dirt and other contaminants can damage the precision component. Perform the assembly procedures on a clean work surface. Keep components covered and protected at all times.

Install lip seal (20) in end cover (12), if the lip seal was previously removed.

Install seal (19) and backup seal (18) in end cover (12) .

Install O-ring seal (17) in end cover (12) .

Install bushing (16) in end cover (12). Install Tooling (A) on the threaded end of drive gear (6) and install the drive gear in end cover (12) .

Install driven gear (14) and bushing (15) in steering pump housing (13) .

Install steering pump housing (13) in end cover (12) .

Install seal (11) and backup seal (10) in end cover (8) .

Install O-ring seal (9) in end cover (8) .

Position end cover (8) and install bolts (7). Tighten bolts (7) to a torque of 45 to 55 N m (33 to 41 lb ft).

Install shaft key (5) in gear drive (6). Install Tooling (A) on the threaded portion of the shaft.

Position gear (4). Install the washer and nut (3) .
Install O-ring seal (2) in steering pump assembly (1) .End By: Install the steering pump. Disassembly and Assembly, "Gear Pump (Steering) - Install".
