To get the proper clamp force on the shaft, it is required to either use the new chamfered blocks and caps or to rework the old blocks and caps by adding a chamfer. Refer to Illustration 1 for rework dimensions.The chamfer allows clearance over a small step in the idler shaft near the seal collar. The rework is required only on the edges nearer to the seal collar.
