Remove the oscillating axle. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Oscillating Axle (Rear) and Output Transfer Gears - Remove".
Separate the output transfer gears from the oscillating axle assembly. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Oscillating Axle (Rear) from Output Transfer Gears - Separate".Note: Cleanliness is an important factor. Before you begin the disassembly procedure, the exterior of the component should be thoroughly cleaned. This will help to prevent dirt from entering the internal mechanism.

Place the oscillating axle in a repair stand or on suitable blocks. The weight of the oscillating axle is approximately 1800 kg (3969 lb).
Remove bolts (2) and the washers that hold differential pinion assembly (1) to the differential housing.
Attach a suitable lifting device to both sides of the front trunnion support (3) as shown. Remove the front trunnion support and the differential pinion assembly as a unit. The weight of the unit is approximately 155 kg (342 lb).
Remove the shim pack from under differential pinion assembly (1) and retain for assembly.

Install tooling (A) and use a suitable lifting device to remove differential pinion assembly (1) from front trunnion support (3). The weight of the differential pinion assembly is approximately 100 kg (220 lb)

Remove O-ring seal (4) from the differential pinion assembly.

Remove bolts (5) and the washers that hold bearing retainer (7) to the front trunnion support. Remove bearing retainer (7) and gasket (9) from the front support.
Remove O-ring seals (6) from the front trunnion support and bearing retainer (7) .
Use a hammer and a punch in order to remove sleeve bearing (8) from the front trunnion support.
