Batteries
Check Electrolyte Level
If equipped with low maintenance high output batteries, do this item at "Every 250 Service Hours or Monthly."
Batteries give off flammable fumes that can explode.Do not smoke when observing the battery electrolyte levels.Electrolyte is an acid and can cause personal injury if it contacts skin or eyes.Always wear protective glasses when working with batteries.
1. Open the battery access cover (1).2. Clean the top of the batteries (2).3. Maintain the electrolyte level to the bottom of the fill opening. At the proper charging rate, the batteries will not require more than 30 cc (1 ounce) of water per cell per week.Cab Air System
Clean Filters
Air Conditioner Filters
Clean the filter element when a reduction of air circulation in the cab is noticed. 1. Loosen the door retaining screw and open the door. Remove the wing nut from each filter element.2. Clean the elements. See topic, "Cleaning Air Cleaner Elements," which is located in the "When Required" section, under "Engine Air Intake."3. Install the clean elements. 1. Loosen the retaining screws, remove the cover and filter element.2. Wash the filter element in a nonsudsing detergent. Rinse the element in clean water. Let the element air dry.3. Install the clean filter and cover. Tighten the retaining screws. When rips or tears are noticed in the filter element, or a reduction of air circulation is noticed in the cab after cleaning filter, install a new element.Hoist Cylinder Bearings
Lubricate Fittings
Lubricate one fitting at the bottom and one fitting at the top of each cylinder (total of four fittings).Centrally Located Fittings
The truck is lubricated at three central locations. A block of seven fittings is located behind each front strut and a block of thirteen fittings is located on the rear differential housing.If any of the remote lines become damaged, install fittings and lubricate the item at the fittings until the line can be replaced.Front Strut and Steering Linkage

Fill Reservoir
Remove the nuts from the cover and remove the cover. Fill the reservoir.The lube can be replenished either by force feeding through an existing fitting on the tank cover or with a paddle. The lubricator holds 60 lbs of lubricant.
