146-1738 Precision Borescope (1) Borescope Case (2) Precision Borescope (3) 90° Viewing Adapter (4) FlashlightThe 146-1738 Precision Borescope is a high quality optical instrument which contains precision optical components. Rough handling of the borescope may result in breakage or damage of these components. The borescope is intended for visual inspection of areas that normally can only be seen by disassembling the component. The borescope has a reach of 30 cm (11.8 inch) and will fit in openings of 6.35 mm (0.250 inch) or larger. Using this tool can greatly increase the chances of finding internal damage during maintenance or routine overhaul procedures.Note: The 146-1738 Precision Borescope is not intended for medical use.Additional Contact Information

Thread the flashlight onto the body. Do not grasp the borescope by the tube, hold it by the body and/or eye cup. Any bending force or impact on the TUBE may result in breakage of the optics.
Finger tighten the flashlight until it firmly contacts the body. DO NOT over tighten.
The 90 degree adapter slips over the tube of the borescope and is held in place with an O-ring. Care must be taken not to bend the borescope tube when installing the adapter.Disassembly
Grasp the knurled surface on the head of the flashlight with one hand and the body of the borescope with the other hand.
Unscrew the flashlight.Operation
Attach the flashlight to the borescope body.
Turn on the light by holding the head with one hand and rotate the flashlight handle slightly counterclockwise with the other hand. View from the base end of the handle.
To adjust light intensity and pattern, rotate the handle of the flashlight. To observe the light output from the tip of the tube, hold the tip 25 mm (0.99 inch) or less away from any surface, or look through the borescope at the desired object.
While holding the body, focus the borescope by turning the eye cup. The adjustable focus eyepiece can be focused from 1.0 mm (0.04 inch) to infinity.
When finished with the inspection, turn OFF the light by rotating flashlight handle clockwise until resistance is felt and the light shuts off.
The flashlight may be removed for storage or left in place.Note: When using the borescope with the
