Description of Change: New cylinder head groups are used. The new cylinder heads have been designed in order to prevent damage to exhaust valves and valve seat inserts that is caused by high temperatures and high pressures.Natural Gas Engines and Generator Sets, Landfill Engines and Generator Sets
A new valve seat insert has been designed in order to provide resistance to component fatigue when unusual thermal or pressure loads occur. A high thermal load or a high pressure load can be caused by the following conditions:
Cooling system malfunction or instability
Engine surge event
Extended service interval for the spark plug that can cause significant misfireLandfill Engines and Generator Sets Only
A new exhaust valve is used in landfill applications. The new exhaust valve will provide more resistance to cracking.Adaptable To: The 269-0042 Cylinder Head Gp has been cancelled and replaced by the 315-2632 Cylinder Head Gp. The 315-2632 Cylinder Head Gp is adaptable to the natural gas Engines and Generator Sets that are listed above.The 269-0043 Cylinder Head Gp is cancelled and replaced by the 315-2633 Cylinder Head Gp. The 315-2633 Cylinder Head Gp is adaptable to the landfill Engines and Generator Sets that are listed above.The 203-0843 Insert is cancelled and replaced by the 308-7100 Valve Seat Insert. The 308-7100 Valve Seat Insert is adaptable to all of the Engines and Generator Sets that are listed above.The 308-9177 Exhaust Valve is a direct replacement for the 104-7184 Valve. The 308-9177 Exhaust Valve is only for landfill Engines and Generator Sets. The 104-7184 Valve is not cancelled.Table 1 lists the former parts and the new parts. Serial number effectivity is listed in Table 2.
