Install new O-ring seals (27) on housing assemblies (26). Install housing assemblies (26) on base (25).

Install Tooling (A) in the top holes of the base.
Install new O-ring seal (24) in housing (6).
Place housing (6) on Tooling (A) and slide into the original position.

Install new O-ring seals (18) on tubes (20). Apply clean engine oil to the O-ring seals.
Install tubes (20).
Install new O-ring seals (19) in housings (17).
Install housings (17).

Install piston (13) and spring (14) into changeover valve (12) so that retaining ring (15) can be installed.
Install O-ring seal (16) on changeover valve (12). Apply clean engine oil to O-ring seal (16). Note: The later changeover valves have additional O-ring seals. The illustration is of an earlier changeover valve.

Apply clean engine oil to changeover valve (12). Install changeover valve (12) into housing (6). Ensure that changeover valve (12) moves freely in housing (6).

Install a new O-ring seal on plate (11).
Engage the pin on tube assembly (5) with the slot in the changeover valve.
Install the bolts that hold plate (11) to housing (6).

Place a new O-ring seal on cover (7). Apply clean engine oil to the O-ring seal.
Ensure that the piston in the changeover valve is in the position that is shown in Illustration 9. Install cover (7) on housing (6) so that the inside groove will be in the position that is shown in Illustration 9.
Install ball (8), spring (9), and plug (10) with a new seal.

Install the bolts that hold support assembly (4).
Fasten support assembly (4) to the housing assemblies.
Engage shaft assembly (3) with tube assembly (5). Ensure that the indicator on shaft assembly (3) is pointing to the valve function on the instruction film.
Install the bolt and the locknut in order to hold shaft assembly (3) to tube assembly (5).
Use a socket and extension in order to turn shaft assembly (3) to each position. Each position is detented. Each position must be felt separately.

Install oil filter elements (2) in each wire rack. Move the wire racks and the filter elements into the engine oil filter housings.

Place new O-ring seals in covers (1).
Install covers (1) with the valves on the bottom. End By:
