Information:

1. Place flywheel and ring gear assembly on suitable support. Check flywheel ring gear for cracks, defective dowel holes and worn or damaged ring gear. Replace ring gear if necessary. Identify the orientation of the old ring gear on the flywheel for correct positioning when installing the new ring gear.2. Heat the ring gear uniformly.
Flywheel and ring gear are hot do not touch with bare hands or personal injury could occur.
3. Using a hammer with a punch or chisel, hit ring gear (2) all the way around.4. Reposition flywheel hub (1) 180°. Remove the old ring gear from the work area. The following steps are for the installation of the ring gear.5. Heat the ring gear to 100° C (212° F) in an oven.6. Press the ring gear onto the flywheel.
