9. Install two 5/8"-11NC forged eyebolts (7) in top of the converter housing and fasten a hoist.10. Remove two bolts from the top and bottom of the power take-off housing. Install two 1/2"-13NC guide pins 6 in. (15.2 cm) long in the top of housing. Install two 1/2"-13NC bolts 5 in. (12.7 cm) long in the bottom of housing. Carefully remove the remainder of the bolts that hold the power take-off housing to flywheel housing. Slide the power take-off and torque converter out until chain is straight. Remove the two long bolts from the bottom of housing. Remove torque converter and power take-off as a unit. Weight is 925 lb. (420 kg). 11. Turn the torque converter and power take-off on end. Remove the bolts that hold the housings together. Install three 1/2"-13NC forged eyebolts (8) in the converter housing. Fasten a hoist and remove torque converter from power take-off. Weight is 575 lb. (261 kg).12. Remove bolts and locks from drive gear in flywheel. Remove drive gear.Install Power Take-Off Drive
1. Put the drive gear (2) in the flywheel. Install the bolts and locks (1) to hold it in place. 2. Fasten a hoist and put the torque converter in position on the power take-off. Install bolts (3) to hold it in place.3. Turn the torque converter and power take-off so the holes for the eyebolts are up. 4. Install two 5/8"-11NC forged eyebolts in top of the converter housing. Fasten a hoist and put the converter and power take-off in position on the guide bolts in flywheel housing. Push the power take-off into position with a bar (4). Install the bolts to hold it in place.5. Connect drain lines to oil manifold under the power take-off. 6. Connect oil inlet line (6) and outlet line to torque converter.7. Install bracket (5) on top of converter for pump drive.8. Install sequence and pressure control valve (7).9. Fasten a hoist and install drive shaft. Tighten bolts in universal joints to a torque of 110 10 lb.ft. (15.2 1.4 mkg).10. Connect temperature gauge line.end by: a) install pump driveDisassemble Power Take-Off Drive
start by: a) remove power take-off drive 1. Remove the drain lines (1). 2. Remove bolts (2) from bearing cage. Install two of the bolts as forcing screws. Remove cage (4) and shims (3) from housing. Put identification on shims for installation purposes. 3. Remove bolts (9), lock, retainer and O-ring seal from yoke (8).4. Remove yoke (8) and bearing cage (4) from output gear.5. Remove lip seal and bearing cups from cage (4). 6. Remove bearing cones from output gear with tooling (A).7. Remove bearing cup (6) from power take-off housing.8. Remove the oil tubes from housing.9. Remove bolts (7), locks and idler gear shaft (5) from housing. Keep shims on shaft together for installation purposes. 10. Remove the idler gear (10) from housing. Remove the two bearing cones and spacer from the gear.11. Weld a piece of steel plate, 1/4 in. (6.4 mm) thick, across
