Information:
Measure the clearance between the scraper edges and the wheel. Correct clearance is 12 mm (1/2 inch). When the clearance reaches 25 mm (1 inch), adjust the scrapers.To Adjust:
1. Loosen the nuts and slide the scraper edge forward to the proper clearance. 2. Tighten the nuts to 360 50 N m (265 35 lb ft). Retorque all nuts after a few hours of operation.3. Reverse or replace the scraper if the proper clearance cannot be reached. Remove the bolts and the retainer.4. Clean all mounting surfaces and install the scraper, retainer, bolts and nuts loosely. Position the bevel face up. 5. Slide the scraper to the correct clearance of 12 mm (1/2 inch). 6. Tighten the nuts to 360 50 N m (265 35 lb ft). Retorque nuts after a few hours of operation.Ether Starting Aid - Ether Cylinder
Ether is a poison and is flammable.Do not smoke while installing or changing the ether cylinder.Use ether only in well ventilated areas.Use ether with care to avoid fires.Do not store replacement cylinders in living areas or in the operator's compartment.Keep ether cylinders out of the reach of children.Avoid breathing of the vapors or repeated contact of ether with the skin.Do not store cylinders at temperatures above 49°C (120°F).Do not use cylinders in temperatures above 93°C (200°F).Do not store cylinders in direct sunlight.Do not puncture or burn cylinders.Discard empty cylinders in a safe place.
The ether cylinder valve is located in the service compartment behind the operator's compartment.Initial Installation (typical procedure shown)
1. Remove the protective plug (1) from the ether cylinder valve. Store the plug in the threaded holder (2). 2. Screw the ether cylinder (3) into the valve hand tight. Do not use tools to tighten it. Fasten the cylinder clamp (4) securely around the cylinder.Changing (typical procedure shown)
1. Loosen the cylinder clamp. Unscrew and remove the cylinder. 2. Remove the used gasket. Install the new gasket, provided with the new cylinder. 3. Install a new cylinder. Tighten the cylinder hand tight. Refasten the cylinder clamp securely around the cylinder.Temporary Removal (typical procedure shown)
Observe all safety precautions to store partially filled cylinders for future use.
1. Loosen the cylinder clamp. 2. Remove the cylinder, and the gasket. Store the cylinder and the gasket in a safe place. 3. Remove the protective plug from the threaded holder. Screw it finger tight into the cylinder valve.Alternator Belt
If the alternator warning light on the indicator panel in the operator's compartment comes on, while the engine is running, inspect the alternator belt. Tighten the alternator belt as shown in item (23). Replace the alternator belt, if it is worn or damaged.Seat Belt
Inspect the condition of the seat belt and all mounting hardware frequently. Replace the seat belt or any part of the mounting hardware, if it is damaged.
Replace the seat belt every 3 years regardless of its condition or appearance.
