Information:


ALWAYS check for obstructions prior to moving the mast or the machine.ALWAYS secure tools and mast components prior to moving the mast. Injury or death could result.
Know the maximum height and the maximum reach of your machine. Serious injury or death by electrocution can occur if the machine or the mast are not kept a safe distance from electrical power lines.
Ensure that all machine components and obstructions are cleared from the path of the mast before the mast is raised or lowered.Ensure that the mast lock pins are fully retracted before lowering the mast.Ensure that objects connected to the winch are adequately secured before lowering the mast.Failure to follow these instructions can result in damage to the machine and/or machine components.
In order to raise or lower the mast, the following parameters must be met:
Machine is level
DRILL or TRAM mode is selected
"PIPE IN HOLE" indicator is "GREEN" on the monitor.Mast Raise
Automatic Mast Raise
Level the machine. See this Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Leveling" for additional information.
Ensure that the mast is free of loose objects. Ensure that the drill deck is clean and free of debris and buildup. Ensure that the travel path of the mast is clear of obstructions.
Remove the hole covers from the drill deck. Ensure that the drill bit will clear the work deck area. Note: Store the hole covers appropriately.
Move the "Tram/Drill" switch to the DRILL or TRAM position See this Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Operator Controls" for additional information.
Move the "Mast Lock" switch to the UNLOCKED position. See this Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Operator Controls" for additional information.Note: Visually verify that the mast lock pins are fully retracted.
Select the desired mast angle on the monitor. See this Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Monitoring System" for additional information.
Press the "Auto Mast" button on the monitor in order to automatically raise the mast. See this Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Monitoring System" for additional information.
Once the mast has moved to the desired angle, the mast locking pins will engage automatically. Note: Visually verify that the mast lock pins are fully engaged.Manual Mast Raise
Perform steps 1 through 5 in "Mast Raise".
Move the "Mast Control " lever to the RAISE position in order to raise the mast. See this Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Operator Controls" for additional information. Note: Control the speed of the mast travel with the "Mast Control" lever. As the mast approaches the desired vertical position, use the "Mast Control" levers in order to slow the mast.
Use the angle indicator on the mast in order to determine the desired angle. Note: The mast angle can be set between 60° and 90°.
Once the mast has moved to the desired angle, move the "Mast Lock" switch to the LOCKED position. Note: Visually verify that the mast lock pins are fully engaged.Mast Lower

Verify that the machine is level. Re-level if necessary. See this Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Leveling" for additional information.
Retract the drill string from the drill hole and ensure that the drill bit will clear the work deck area.
