Removal Procedure
Hot engine components can cause injury from burns. Before performing maintenance on the engine, allow the engine and the components to cool.
Open the left access door.
Turn the battery disconnect switch to the OFF position.

Remove the four bolts, the four washers, and cover (1). Cover (1) is located under the machine directly below the electric starting motor.

Remove the nut, the washer, cable assembly (3), and cable assembly (4) .
Remove the nut, the washer, grounding strap (5), and cable assembly (6) .
Remove the nut, the washer, and harness assembly (7) .
Remove three bolts (8), the three washers, and electric starting motor (2) .Installation Procedure
Install electric starting motor (2) in the reverse order of removal.
Tighten the nut securing grounding strap (5) and cable assembly (6) to a torque of 21 3 N m (186 27 lb in).
Tighten the nut securing cable assembly (3) and cable assembly (4) to a torque of 16 3 N m (141 27 lb in).
