Information:


Start the machine, and fully extend the stick and the bucket. Lower the stick and the bucket to the ground.
Release the hydraulic system pressure.Reference: Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Hydraulic System Pressure - Release" in this manual.
Drain the oil from the hydraulic oil tank into a suitable container for storage or disposal. The capacity of the hydraulic oil tank is 370 L (96 US gal).

Fasten a suitable lifting device and a hoist to the hood assembly, as shown.
Remove five bolts (1) and hood assembly (2) .

Remove ten bolts (3), the washers, and support (4) that is located directly over the main hydraulic pump.

Remove four bolts and the washers that hold the cover assembly (5) to the machine.
Remove cover assembly (5) .
Remove two bolts and the washers that hold cover assembly (6) to the machine.

Put identification marks on all of the hose assemblies and on all of the tube assemblies that are connected to the main hydraulic pump for installation purposes.
Oil will drain from the hose assemblies and the tube assemblies that are connected to the main hydraulic pump. Place a suitable container under the main hydraulic pump in order to collect the oil.
Disconnect eight hose assemblies (7) from the main hydraulic pump. Put plugs in the ends of the hose assemblies in order to prevent loss of oil. Plugs also keep contaminants out of the hydraulic system.
Loosen four clamps (8). Remove hose assembly (9) from tube assembly (10) .
Remove four bolts (11) and the washers that hold tube assembly (10) to the main hydraulic pump.
Disconnect tube assembly (10) from the main hydraulic pump.

Disconnect wiring harness (12) from the main hydraulic pump.

Disconnect tube (13) from the turbocharger, that is not shown.

Remove four nuts (14) and two U-bolts (17) that hold muffler assembly (16) to the mounting bracket.
Disconnect sensor (15) underneath the muffler.
Remove muffler assembly (16) from the mounting bracket.

Remove six bolts (20) and the washers that hold lower plates (18) and (19) in position.
Tilt the lower plates and remove the lower plates in order to gain access to main hydraulic pump mounting bolts.

Fasten a lifting sling and a hoist to main hydraulic pump (21), as shown.
The main hydraulic pump must be held level during removal and installation in order to prevent binding of the pump drive coupling in the engine flywheel.

Remove thirteen bolts (23), the washers, and the mounting bracket (22) for the muffler.
While the main hydraulic pump is level, remove the main hydraulic pump and the drive coupling from the engine flywheel and the flywheel housing. The combined weight of the main hydraulic pump and the pump drive coupling is 220 kg (485 lb).

Remove eight bolts (24) and flywheel gear (25) from the engine.
