Failure to use long nose pliers as a heat sink can cause damage to the diodes because of too much heat during lead and plate unsoldering.

Diode AssembliesPositive Diode Check
Put the multimeter on the diode scale. Connect the meter leads between each positive (+) diode and the stud.
Note the meter reading and reverse the meter leads.
One reading should be OL and the other 0.4 volts to 0.9 volts. If both readings are OL or low (0 volts to 0.1 volts), that diode is open or shorted and the positive (+) diode assembly must be replaced.Negative Diode Check

Note the meter reading and reverse the meter leads.
