The spacer (1) should not extend past the main screed plate (2) .

Check the gap between the main screed plate (2) and the deflector plate (3). The gap across the entire length of the extender must be 9.5 mm (0.375 inch). The extender must also be parallel to the main screed within 1.5 mm (0.06 inch).

If the gap between the screed plate (2) on the main screed and the deflector plate (3) on the extender is not correct, loosen five bolts on the top of the frame (4) and four bolts on the bottom of the frame (5) .

Drive out the alignment pins. There are four alignment pins. Two alignment pins are located in the top plate and two alignment pins are located in the bottom plate.

Place a 9.5 mm (0.375 inch) spacer between the main screed plate and the deflector plate of the extender. Position the extender so that the spacer has contact along the entire deflector plate and the leading edge of the main screed plate.
Tighten five bolts on the top of the frame (4) and four bolts on the bottom of the frame (5) .
Drill new alignment holes through the frame near the old hole locations.
Drive alignment pins into the new holes.
Repeat this procedure for the other extender.
