Remove the dipstick/fill plug for the transmission.
Ensure that the oil level is above the minimum oil level line on the "SAFE TO START" side of the dipstick/fill plug. Add transmission oil, if necessary.Note: The "SAFE TO START" side of the dipstick should only be used to ensure that there is enough oil in the transmission to start the machine at the start of the day, using the "SAFE TO START" side of the dipstick is only applicable for the first start of the day. If the machine has been started within the last 8 eight hours, then the transmission oil may not yet have fully drained back from the torque converter and the transmission cooler. If the oil level is checked again during this time period, the oil may appear to be low on this side of the dipstick. In this case, refer to the "CHECK WITH WARM OIL" method below and do not add any transmission oil. Adding oil will cause the transmission to over-fill and could cause oil to spill out of the transmission breather while roading. Other damage could be done to the transmission. The correct machine operating transmission oil level should only be checked with the "CHECK WITH WARM OIL" side of the dipstick.
Start the engine. Run the engine for 1 minute. Running the engine allows the oil to circulate around the transmission oil cooler and torque converter and settle at the correct operating level.
Maintain the oil level within the crosshatched region on the "CHECK WITH WARM OIL" side of the dipstick/fill plug when the transmission is warm and the engine is at low idle. Add transmission oil, if necessary.
Clean the dipstick/fill plug and install the dipstick/fill plug.
